Vibe (Marblehead) – After studying current designs, this boat was evolved using the MaxSurf CAD program to produce a user friendly boat that has very good speed potential in all wind strengths.

On it's first appearance in the 2002 Australian Nationals, this design placed second equal to Janusz Walicki with his Scalpel. (Third on count-back)  Using Conventional Shroudless rigs this boat allows the experienced, as well as the novice skipper to explore the full potential of the design.

Construction Notes

The Hull is laid up of one layer of 200gm Carbon and one layer of 60gm Kevlar, with a reinforcing area of Kevlar around the fincase.

The Deck is laid up using one layer of 200gm Carbon and one layer of 60gm Kevlar.

The hull and deck are joined and there are backing pieces to take the backstay, sidestays, mainsheet turning block and jib attachment points.

The Fin which now comes standard as the 6% parallel keel, is laid up using uni-directional carbon fibre running down the keel as well as woven carbon fibre at 45degrees.

The Rudder which also now comes standard as a 6% cord, is laid up using uni-directional carbon fibre and a crossweave carbon.  A 4mm stainless steel shaft is fitted and the steering arm is aligned and fitted to the shaft.

The Fin Bulb has 6% Antimony in the lead for added stiffness.
